Understanding Hospice...

  • Hospice is not about dying, but is about living the highest quality of life when one is facing a life limiting illness.
  • Hospice is about patients who are making choices about the type of care they receive and where they want it provided - at home, with a family member or in a facility.
  • Hospice is about controlling pain and other symptoms so that patients and families can enjoy their time together without the physical suffering and the emotional burden that comes with it.
  • Hospice is about patients and loved ones addressing the emotional and social issues related to end of life. It is about finishing "unfinished business" and preparing for the eventual separation that takes place at death.
  • Hospice is about the opportunity to review life, address spiritual questions and find peace and comfort in the process.

Home Health Services and its related companies consider it an honor to provide the highest quality of hospice care. We have been entrusted to provide hospice services to hundreds of patients and their families. Many medical professionals in our service area recognize us as "the hospice of choice". Our highly trained nurses, physicians, social workers, aides, spiritual counselors and volunteers provide hospice services in the home, assisted living centers and skilled nursing facilities. As a team we provide the patient and family the necessary tools to create comfort and address end of life issues that may be of concern to the patient and family. Bereavement services are provide to family members for at least a year following the death of a patient.

Cost for hospice services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance policies. Financial resources will be pursued to assist patients that have few resources to cover the costs of hospice care.
